New year, new unified Ventura County chapter

--

Citizens’ Climate Lobby thrived in Ventura County in 2021. Our two chapters, Ventura and Conejo Valley, conducted four lobbying meetings, published 37 letters and op-eds, grew our membership, secured an endorsement from the Oxnard City Council, and made over 350 contacts to legislators, all in support of stronger actions to protect the climate like the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act. As a result of our actions and those across the country, Congress is now closer than ever to passing a price on carbon through budget reconciliation.

In the new year, we’re moving forward with a new sense of focus and determination, starting with unifying our chapters under the name Ventura County Citizens’ Climate Lobby. This new structure will enable us to leverage our scale and larger community, and build a stronger, more cohesive relationship with Representative Julia Brownley, whose district included both prior.

If you’re already a member, no action needed — we’ve already moved you to the new group in our systems. If you’d like to join us, visit cclusa.org/join. Be sure to follow us at our new unified handle, @cclventura, on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and here at cclventura.org.

Here’s to a bright 2022, full of carbon dividends for all!
